How it works
Every number should be easy to understand.
Where possible, each figure shows where it came from, when it was updated and whether it is confirmed or estimated.
Flight updates
When available, live flight times and aircraft locations come from FlightAware. We also use published airline schedules. Flight pages show when the information was last updated.
How long information is kept
Detailed tracking information is kept only for as long as our data agreement allows. Final departure and arrival times, along with on-time summaries, may be kept so visitors can compare performance over time.
On-time performance
A flight counts as on time when it arrives at the gate no more than 15 minutes after its scheduled arrival. Cancelled and diverted flights are not counted as completed arrivals.
Full-flight estimates
We multiply the number of Business and Economy seats by the listed fares. You can change how many seats are filled to explore different estimates for one flight or a selected day.
What the estimate does not include
We cannot see how many tickets were actually sold. The estimate also leaves out refunds, taxes, optional extras and costs such as staff, airports, aircraft and fuel. It is not revenue or profit.
Corrections and sources
When information is corrected, we keep a note of what changed. Labels such as Confirmed, Reported and Estimate show how certain the information is.
