Make operations easier to follow
Bring flight times, delays, cancellations, aircraft activity and on-time performance into one public record that people can understand.
Why AB Tracker exists
AB Tracker is an independent community project that follows AirBorneo’s jet operation and explains its performance in language everyone can understand.
A matter of public interest
AirBorneo is Sarawak's state-owned airline. Its role reaches beyond selling seats: it supports connectivity, public service and the state's wider development goals. We believe information already available to the public should be easier to find, follow and understand.
Sarawak Government announcementConstructive transparency
Transparency here does not mean claiming access to AirBorneo's internal systems, contracts or accounts. We collect information from published and licensed sources, show when it was observed, and explain how a figure was calculated.
AB Tracker is not an official AirBorneo service, a financial audit or an accusation of wrongdoing. It is a public learning tool designed to encourage informed discussion based on evidence rather than rumours.
Three purposes
The site should answer everyday questions without requiring readers to know aviation or finance terminology.
Bring flight times, delays, cancellations, aircraft activity and on-time performance into one public record that people can understand.
Turn aviation terms into plain language, so a traveller can understand what happened and why an airline operation can be difficult.
Use clearly labelled scenarios to show how aircraft, fuel, airports, staffing, reliability and passenger demand can shape the cost of a flight.
Facts and estimates
Flight times and aircraft movements can be observed. Ticket sales, negotiated aircraft costs and actual profit usually cannot. Where the real number is not public, we show an adjustable scenario—not a claim about AirBorneo's finances.
